As a history professor, i am sometimes reticent to indulge in what i called anniversary history, because i like my students to think every single day is historic. Im with the Salem Award Foundation for human rights and social justice. This is our 25th anniversary. We were formed with the idea of helping to keep alive the lessons of the trials, promoting awareness, empathy and understanding. One of the main ways we do this is by supporting and being involved in educational events, just like today. I think you all have in your folders cards like this, which are an invitation to our commemorative activity celebration at the witch trials memorial tomorrow.
