JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Jonesboro City Council discussed anything from ward voting changes to a private club permit after Mayor Harold Copenhaver shared his vision for the community.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Help is available for those facing a utility crisis.
Crowleyâs Ridge Development Council and Black River Area Development Corporation announced Monday they are accepting applications for the Winter LIHEAP Crisis program.
To be eligible, a household must be facing a crisis situation such as:
Impending disconnection
Disconnected utilities
Eviction notice because utilities are included in the rent
Needing utilities for a new residence
CRDC Director of Human Services Casey Kidd said if you qualify, apply.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Several Region 8 Counties want to know how many people are considered homeless and need your help to calculate that number.
The Point in Time Count is a national event, but many organizations are working in Craighead, Greene, and Poinsett Counties on Thursday to participate in the count.
“This count allows us to identify those individuals so that we can make sure those services are being connected to them,” Crowley’s Ridge Development Council Director of Human Services Casey Kidd said.

Thomas has been with Crowleyâs Ridge Development Council since mid-2018. He was an assistant to former Craighead County Judge Ed Hill for almost eight years before that, and he served as a special projects coordinator under mayors Doug Formon and Harold Perrin before that.
Prior to local government work, he was an educator.
Copenhaver said Thomasâ background made for an ideal selection.
âTony has experience in different areas,â Copenhaver said Wednesday. âI got to know him well when he worked for Ed ⦠and then I also understand when I was in state government, the importance of CRDC and how he was working with grants. So the overall picture, he gets it, and very few people have that experience.â
