Thomas has been with Crowley’s Ridge Development Council since mid-2018. He was an assistant to former Craighead County Judge Ed Hill for almost eight years before that, and he served as a special projects coordinator under mayors Doug Formon and Harold Perrin before that.
Prior to local government work, he was an educator.
Copenhaver said Thomas’ background made for an ideal selection.
“Tony has experience in different areas,” Copenhaver said Wednesday. “I got to know him well when he worked for Ed … and then I also understand when I was in state government, the importance of CRDC and how he was working with grants. So the overall picture, he gets it, and very few people have that experience.”
