'Why do you keep stealing?': Woman told to seek help

A WOMAN with a mounting history of stealing clothes, cosmetics and alcohol has been handed a 100-day jail term this week.
Stephanie-Dawn Mackenzie’s defence lawyer was at loss to explain her actions when appearing before the Ipswich Magistrates Court for sentence.
Mackenzie, 24, from Goodna, pleaded guilty to 11 charges including nine charges of stealing and two for failing to appear at court.
She appeared from jail via video-link.
Prosecutor Sergeant Molinaro said Mackenzie was stealing items that were not essential, including dresses, wine, mirrors, jewellery and cosmetics.
“She was wearing some of the stolen items when spoken to by police,” Sgt Molinaro said. ....

Wife knifes clothing over husband's 'dirty talk'

A WOMAN got so mad when she caught out her husband talking dirty online to another woman, she grabbed a knife and slashed his clothes.
After a 26-year relationship the woman admitted to police that she simply lost it when she caught her man out, Ipswich Magistrates Court heard.
The 52-year-old Ipswich woman - who cannot be named for legal reasons - had led a near blameless life with no previous offences.
She pleaded guilty to contravening a domestic violence protection order on February 6, 2020.
Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said the woman was at home at 4pm that day when she discovered her husband was using Facebook Messenger to chat to another female and had been talking dirty to her. ....

Drink driver's transplant 'may have led to high reading'

A DOUBLE organ transplant recipient was caught drink driving at more than four times the legal alcohol limit, a court heard this week.
The young woman s health issues may have resulted in her body not processing alcohol as effectively.
Alise Minogue came to police attention as she exited a hotel car park late at night.
Minogue, 29, from Newtown, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to driving UIL with an alcohol level of 0.206 at Raceview on October 30 last year.
Police said she had a relevant previous conviction.
Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said Minogue was behind the wheel of a white Range Rover at 9.15pm when she was seen attempting to leave the Raceview Tavern car park. ....
