Passengers on board that flight. All of them made it back here safely. The passengers bound from oakland to chicago knew there were problems after the 6 00 a. M. Takeoff. We heard what sounded like a gun pop, pop, pop, and then saw flames. The whole side of the plane lit up. Right at takeoff, when the landing gear was coming up, it was difficult. You heard a lot of noise that sounded terrible. Reporter the flight crew came out and said there was a problem with the landing gear. They knew the situation was serious. I knew i was in trouble when we were taking off. I looked out to the side of the plank on the left, and there was flames, sparks, loud gun shot noises. I was scared. Reporter the flight made in as far as the Central Valley and circled around and around burning off fuel for an Emergency Landing after returning to oakland. I thought it was weird. A rainy week for sure. The first system opens the door to allow the other systems to make more of an impact. This is one of the systems coming up from the south. Inland, not as much rain, coast and bay a little bit more. What were doing is setting the table. Theyll have to wait until tuesdays system for us. Temperatures will be warmer, 40s to 50s. So were going from a very cold december to a rainy january. Not a lot of rain today. Towards the south bay and on the coast, peninsula, the heavier rain will be right there. And for us. Not only a cloudy, mild, rainy pattern but rain for a while. More rain to the coast and warmer temperatures. Upper 50s to near 60 for a few. I do believe hes here. Are you ready . I am ready. Heavy at times. Thats really lit up. And thats the heaviest rain. The system will barrel through and well get a little bit of a break. Off and on rain and they are stacked up until at least about thursday. 50s on the temps. Thats one consolation. The breeze has been gusting upwards of 25 to 30 miles per hour. Look for an off and on rainy, breezy to windy day and the rain will not let up until thursday afternoon or evening. Windy and temperatures will be in the 50s for everybody.
