Police seek witnesses to fatal Richmond shooting [East Bay Times] Dec. 17 OAKLAND Police said they are asking for the public’s help in finding witnesses and other information that might help solve a fatal shooting, authorities said Wednesday. In a statement, police said officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 300 block of 25th Street and learned while en route that a gunshot victim had been found. Officers arrived to find a 60-year-old man sitting in his vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency life-saving measures from officers, Richmond Fire Department firefighters and paramedics, the man, later identified as Danny Mitchell, 60, of Richmond, was pronounced dead after being taken to a trauma center.

The shooting was reported about 9:30 p.m. at 2989 Pullman Ave., outside the Pullman Point Apartments. While officers were on their way to the scene, the victim arrived at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond, Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy said. Doctors provided emergency care, but Alex Otis, 38, died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police said.
