Monroe County medical officials discuss COVID-19 impact, vaccinations

In hopes of encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations, Monroe County Community College, the Monroe County Health Department and ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital hosted a special panel presentation Friday regarding vaccination efforts.
The program, The Importance of Being Vaccinated - A Presentation by Health Officials took place via Zoom, as has been common for public meetings and webinars during the pandemic.
The program was scheduled amid a spike in COVID-19 cases across Michigan and Monroe County that has picked up national attention; efforts by state and local health officials to ramp up vaccinations for Michigan residents age 16 and older; and the reorganization of supplies because administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is temporarily paused. ....

Monroe County health officials to discuss vaccinations

Monroe County Community College, the Monroe County Health Department and ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital have organized a special panel presentation regarding COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
The program, The Importance of Being Vaccinated - A Presentation by Health Officials will take place in Zoom video conference format starting at 11 a.m. Friday.
The state of Michigan and Monroe County are in the news for the wrong reasons, the announcement said. We top the nation in COVID-19 cases. One way to shed this dubious distinction is to get as many individuals vaccinated as possible.

CHS Gymnastics team win season opener, Travelbee takes All-Around

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater lady Cardinal gymnastics team had their home opener Wednesday night in a double dual meet against Monroe High School and Ann Arbor Skyline High School. Coldwater won both matchups with a team Regional qualifying score of 132.925.Â Monroe was second with over 124 points, followed by Ann Arbor Skyline at 26.425.
The Cardinal home opener each year is dedicated as the Jillian Crist Memorial meet.Â Even though COVID-19 protocols made things a bit different this year, the gymnasts still collected more than two dozen bottles of ketchup to donate to the food pantry in her honor. Â Announcer Mark Crist and his wife Louise were on hand to award two gymnasts the Miss ConâJillyâlity award as a thank you to the team for keeping Jillian’s memory alive.
