Dorset Police received a report at 7.27am on Tuesday, June 8 of a two-vehicle collision, which involved a silver Toyota and a blue Subaru, on an unclassified road near to Keepers Cottage, in the area of Gainsborough Hill south of Sherborne. The driver of the Toyota – a man aged in his 50s from the Sherborne area – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Yeovil District Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical condition.

Poole man airlifted to hospital after A35 crash near Bere Regis A MAN in his 70s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after his pick-up truck collided with a tipper lorry and a Range Rover. The injured man, who is from Poole, was taken to hospital by ambulance following the early morning crash near Bere Regis yesterday. Police were called to the A35 at Sugar Hill at 7.20am, as reported in the Daily Echo. The collision involved a tipper lorry, a Mitsubishi L200 truck and a black Range Rover. The driver of the Mitsubishi – a man aged in his 70s and from the Poole area – suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital. His condition remains serious, but stable.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is assisting officers with their enquiries. Now, police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Police Constable Jay Griffin, of the traffic unit, said: I am appealing to anyone who was travelling along the A35 at the time of the collision and either saw what happened or captured anything of relevant on dashcam to please contact Dorset Police. I appreciate the road closure caused delays, but I would like to thank motorists for their patience while we treated the injured woman and examined the scene. The A35 was closed between Morden Park Corner and the Bere Regis roundabout while emergency services treated the injured driver and examined the scene.
Bere Regis Fire Station A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries and been taken to hospital following a crash involving a lorry and a car. At 7.54am on Monday a crash occurred on the A35 at the Bloxworth junction, east of Bere Regis, involving a refuse lorry and a red Peugeot 2008. The driver of the Peugeot – a woman aged in her 50s and from the Bridport area – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital. Her condition remains serious. The driver of the lorry – a man aged in his 50s and from Christchurch – was uninjured. He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
