AN 18-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition after being stabbed in the chest in an unprovoked attack in Bournemouth s Lower Gardens. Detectives have now launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Dorset Police received a report that at around 11.50pm last night an 18-year-old man had sustained a stab wound to the chest after being assaulted in the Lower Gardens in the town centre. The victim had been walking in the gardens toward Bournemouth Pier with two friends when they walked past a man and a woman who were sitting on a bench.
Driver fighting for life after serious crash involving Subaru and Toyota on country road A DRIVER is fighting for life following a crash on a country road. Police were called to the unclassified road near Keepers Cottage in the Gainsborough Hill area near Sherborne at 7.27am yesterday. The collision involved a silver Toyota and a blue Subaru. The driver of the Toyota – a man aged in his 50s from the Sherborne area – suffered serious injuries and was taken to Yeovil District Hospital. He was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical condition. The driver of the Subaru – a woman aged in her 50s from the Bradford Abbas area – sustained minor injuries.

Two areas of the Lower Gardens have been cordoned off by police following the unprovoked attack, which took place late on Tuesday. An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the chest. He remains in a critical condition. This morning a footpath, two benches and a bin near Westover Road has been taped off while a larger section of the gardens between the crazy golf course and Pier Approach is also blocked.
Crime scene investigators were seen taking photographs this morning, while a number of yellow marker cones to pinpoint potential evidence had been placed on the ground.
A vehicle collided with a police car as officers investigated the theft of a catalytic converter SUSPECTED thieves crashed into a police car as officers responded to a call about the theft of a catalytic converter. Officers were called to Cavendish Road, Bournemouth to reports that a catalytic converter was being stolen from a parked Honda Jazz. Police attended at 10.45pm on Tuesday May 25 and a collision took place between the police vehicle and car suspected to be involved in the theft. The occupants fled and now police have appealed for information from the public. A search of the area was carried out, assisted by the NPAS helicopter, but the offenders were not found.
