Gorgen is associate professor of american studies at Sorbonne University in paris where she teaches american history and culture. Her research explores the history of photography in the american west with a special focus on photo networks like the California Camera Club. Her work is rooted in extensive archival research some of which he has conducted at the california historical society. And it has received support from the Terra Foundation for american art the binicky library at yale the Huntington Library and the amon carter museum.
