Quincy bowlers split with Homer at University Lanes

Courtesy Quincy Community Schools Facebook page ALBION, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy bowling teams split their matches on Wednesday with Homer at University Lanes. The Quincy boys lost a close 16-14 match. Homer powered through their 9th and 10th frames on singles to capture the win by just eight pins. The match saw Quincy come out on top of Baker play with all 10 points as Quincy edged Homer 174-172 in game one and 193-174 in game two. Caden Moore, despite throwing a solid 221 in game one would drop his point as would Brandt Neely with a 201 game. Their totals kept it close for the Orioles who notched points with Tyler Short throwing a 145 and Brodie Mainstone rolling a 176. Cody Neusbaum would chip in 128 as Quincy fell 871-872. A hot start from Moore, who struck the first five frames pushed Quincy to an early lead. More would go on to shoot a 198 capturing his point. Short again scored for the Orioles with a 173. Quincy bowlers lose to Homer at Midway Lanes

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school bowling, Quincy dropped both varsity matches to Homer Tuesday afternoon at Midway Lanes. Senior Peran Reif led the Quincy girls with a 142 game. Quincy also scored a point in singles from Madison Wineland. In varsity boys action Quincy struggled out of the gate but captured six in Baker play. Homer was lights out in singles game one outscoring the Orioles 887-681. Quincy fired back in game 2 taking 4 of 5 and overall but dropped the final 2 overall points by just 43 pins. Senior Dylan Bean led Quincy on the night with a 219 game at anchor. The Quincy JV boys cruised to another win on the season. Despite a tough baker series Quincy edged Homer for all 10 points. Quincy went on to take 5 of 10 singles points and all 10 overall points for a 25-5 victory. Leading the Oriole effort was Brady Harper with a 166 and Cameron Barry with a 155.

Quincy splits bowling matches at East Jackson

JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Quincy split their matches at East Jackson. The Orioles won the girls match 19-11 but lost the boys match 16-14. The Quincy girls came out strong taking baker 1 but fell short in baker 2 taking 4 points in to single play. Starting off for the Orioles was Freshman Natalee Craig seeing action for the first time this season. Natalee would take both points in singles shooting a 130 and 106. Senior Daylin Fuller threw well with a 187 and 191 but failed to score against anchor Sam Dwight who shot a 397 2 game series. Alyssa Milliman would capture both of her points with 126 and 112 games, and Madison Wineland would also capture a point with scores of 112 and 133. Peran Reif help the Oriole capture overall totals with 149 and 127 games. Quincy went on to shoot 1373 over E.J. 1297.
