They’re also cost prohibitive for many local restaurants. “I don’t use GrubHub,” said Paul Beaugard, owner of Bogie’s Hoagies. “Those services charge about 30% out of every dollar. It’s undoable.” But now, Beaugard, who has never offered delivery, and about 20 other restaurants in the Hawthorne area are able to provide delivery through a new app created by New Jersey locals. Husband-and-wife Dorian and Tatiana Amador are the founders of Foodie Taxi, an app-based food delivery service based in Hawthorne.
