this morning, des moines police are investigating a double homicide. they responded to a call for assistance in the 2400 block of hull avenue around 7 o clock last night. kcci-tv in des moines reports neighbors say they didn t hear anything. and they said they didn t know something was going on until police got there. but police confirmed there was a shooting and detectives are now investigating. coal-burning power plants are noted targets in the push for cleaner air. but those plants also carry risk for ground water. in the last 5 years, one set of testing in eastern iowa found arsenic in the ground water much higher than the e-p-a standard. kcrg-tv9 s chris earl did his own testing in eastern iowa. is newer. homes on moose drive nw are less than 10 years old. but this area wasn t empty before. the remnants of the stoney creek landfill is the backyard neighbor for many. decades ago, the coal ash from the alliant energy-owned prairie creek generating station on c street ....
