We continue our reporting on the one year anniversary of the u.s. withdrawal from afghanistan by hearing from one of the commanders on the ground during that chaotic time. national security correspondent jennifer griffin reports from the pentagon. exactly one year ago, colonel collin mcclass ski was one on of the last military flights out of kabul. he was the air force colonel responsible for the airfield and runways during the messy afghan withdrawal. 621 airmen atrifd a nonfunctioning airfield quickly repairing radars, airfield lighting and refueling capabilities damaged when the airport was overrun and all the contractors fled. imagine people come across a barrier with their families and everything they have and they are doing whatever they can to get to safety. in this case safety had a big american flag on the back of it. on august 16th, u.s. forces raced to regain control of the airport and carried out the ....
