Our newsroom. Surveillance showing a man police say. Is very dangerous and they want to get off the streets after he killed a dog in cold blood and tried to do the same to two people. We spoke with police a short time ago. They tell us he broke into a house on Eastern Avenue back in december. While there, investigators say he didnt want any witnesses. So he shot a young man in the leg. Then, turned the gun on that victims mother, shooting her twice. Then he killed the family dog. After that. Cops say he pointed his semiautomatic hand gun at point blank range in the face of the antoher man, but by that time he was out of rounds. Based on his actions and the things he did it leaves no doubt in my mind that one of the things he wanted to do was that he didnt want to leave any identifying victim. I think if he would have had more rounds in that gun he would have killed one the house ....
The program. Dan, good afternoon. Dan good afternoon. It was an Emotional Program here at ridgeway elementary. Patrick wolterman s wife, bre, his mother and sister were in the crowd. Not many dry eyes. This program was planned in the fall, well before wolterman gave his life to save a couple thought to be inside a burning home in late december. But School Leaders say the point of the lessons about heroes is to teach students anyone can be a hero, and how important they truly are. Students of all ages sang songs and shared their thoughts on what makes a hero. We talked with one very wellspoken fifth grader about his thoughts on why First Responders should be recognized each day. Old was involved in a drive by shooting. They are telling us it happened somewhere around 7 15 tonight. Now the person devante settles. It was over here in the 5500 hundrend avenue. Police are telling me the know he was shot once and possibly twice in the back. He was taken to uc hosptial and is in stable condition now amazingly, was able to walk to stations, he was able to get help from police. Investigators havent been able to talk to him yet so the only describtion of the vehicle that shot at him is a black toyota. Police tell me there are some witnesses and they plan on talking to them to get more information. Police dont have a lot to go on at this point but again they a leaning toward this being a drive by shooting. It appears to have been it appears that he was on the walk way and the info we have now is that shots were fired from that vehicle once again the victims name in this is 23 yeaold not clear if he new the shooters or if the shooting was random.
