following last month s unres,t with an annoucement this morning about a major boost towards creating stronger families and neighborhoods. i m proud today to say that the city of milwaukee s office of violence prevention has been awarded a five year federal grant.to the substance abuse and mental health service administration. administration. it s called the resiliency in communities after stress and trauma grant and mayor barrett says its one of the largest grants ever awarded to milwaukee s health the purpose of the program is to assist high-risk youth and families and promote resilience and equity in communities through violence prevention, community youth engagement programs, and behavioral health services. local officials say it s a step towards a great solution. it s not as if 5-million dollars changes this, but it s the ability to pull together people to have a common vision about how to approach it and then bring the right partners to the table to addre ....
