"i'm proud today to say that the city of milwaukee's office of violence prevention has been awarded a five year federal grant.to the substance abuse and mental health service administration." administration." it's called the 'resiliency in communities after stress and trauma grant' and mayor barrett says its one of the largest grants ever awarded to milwaukee's health the purpose of the program is to assist 'high-risk youth and families' and promote 'resilience and equity' in communities through violence prevention, community youth engagement programs, and behavioral health services. local officials say it's a step towards a great solution. "it's not as if 5-million dollars changes this, but it's the ability to pull together people to have a common vision about how to approach it and then bring the right partners to the table to address it..
