The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Saturday notified the date for the three new criminal laws Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023 and announced that these will come into force from July 1 this year.
Whoever threatens or likely to threaten the unity, integrity, sovereignty, security, or economic security of India will be committing a terrorist act. Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam will replace the Evidence Act. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita will replace the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (CrPC)
The Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill will replace the Indian Penal Code of 1860
