You are looking at police chief bill scott who arrived 20 minutes ago. Prior to that we saw the assistant police chief walk out of the hospital with other officers. The assistant chief and chief signal to us as they walked by that they were not able to talk to us at this time but they would be speaking later today. This started around 12 20 pm yesterday afternoon when there was a call of an officer down in the area of turk street between van ness and franklin. The officer was deliberately struck by a vehicle by a man he was about to question for a possible firearms violation. The man struck the officer and took off. Three hours after that come up Police Arrested the man they believe was the driver of that vehicle. You see some front end damage on the vehicle. He was arrested around ellis street. She was there listening to the music when she heard one round of gunfire, then another. It wasnt actually until the second round that people were running out of the venue screaming, shooter. Hours later in alexandria, security cameras caught a suicide bomber detonating his bomb right at the security checkpoint outside the building. In all, at least 44 people were killed and more than 125 injured. And isis is claiming responsibility tonight.
