A lack of social distancing, people not wearing face masks and large gatherings. All of that is prompting leaders to cancel this weekends street closure. One block of the avenue between prospect and diablo road has been closed every weekend since june. New at 10 00, smith is here now after talking with town officials and Business Owners about whats going on. The street was closed on friday, saturday and sunday only. Danville leaders say they are done with education and had to do something after some businesses did not comply with the health order. A fight broke out and cases spiked. We came out to hear and we went all the way down past the front of the restaurant. The owner of the kitchen and bar estimates a loss of a dozen outdoor tables on the avenue in downtown danville after leaders decided to open the streets backup. Initially, a little bit of disappointment. But, after we thought about it, i think it is a better choice because of what has been happening over the past few weeks. W
Tonight, the air quality in the bay area night yet great but dramatically better than the past few days. You can see just how much clearer was in sausalito today we have been living in some of the most unhealthy air on earth over the past week but people are slowly getting back outside as we start to see and to smell a difference in the air. Unhealthy. First it was tacky talked to several Restaurant Operators in the city and taylor today some fresh air fried some hope. It can finally move we moved into better air quality tonight and you can definitely see the change in the streets of San Francisco a lot more people out today and while we were in that moderate level for a majority of the day Restaurant Owners say that it was a breath of fresh air as i mentioned it was nice to see people back out and sitting outside of the restaurants, they say its something that was a much needed after hitting 80 yet again another hurdle throughout this pandemic. There are going to be some visibility issues this morning as we do see fog pushing it past the day most of it sitting right above us so bridges should be better that our upper elevations like our east bay hills will be although the golden gate is pretty socked in this morning from that dense fog as for air quality look at this improvement if youre not seeing a shade of yellow orange or red on the map its because youre good or very close to good which is something that you will want to step outside and enjoy of moderate conditions do remain in just a couple of pockets in yellow, but even that a huge step up from where we have been a good day to get outside and enjoy a nice brisk morning walk with steady winds from the coast you will want to put a light jacket on as you venture out there 50s and 60s for your current temperatures.
