The plane is owned by a 67yearold lafayette man, andrew morse. I spoke with his wife joanne this afternoon and she says the longtime pilot flew his cessna to commute to a job site. He worked as a developer and morse took off from concord yesterday morning and when he didnt arrive at Reid Hillview airport in sacramento his family reported him missing and about 24 hours later Civil Air Patrol pilots located it near Castro Valley and they located it this morning and there are not any obvious indications as to what caused the plane to crash. The faa and the ntsb will be investigating. The Alameda County Sheriffs Office helped in the search and say weather and darkness hindered their efforts of finding the plane last night.
