The fire is reporting a dramatic increase in the number of homes and businesses that have been lost in the fire still burning out of control in that napa and sonoma counties. The latest update shows 58,000 acres have burned and that is up from 51,000 this time last night and containment has improved slightly and now 5 compared to 2 yesterday but the Damage Assessment is higher. Cal fire so the number of homes and businesses destroyed has gone up to 419 and that number was 150 last night. We are tracking the weather conditions that firefighters are facing and we will hear from him in a moment but first we go to amber lee and describe the situation there. This result of the planned power shutoffs by pg and e because of wildfire concerns. The impact has been felt by more than 22,000 customers in sonoma and napa counties, 17,000 customers in sonoma county. 5,000 customers in napa this is the current interactive outage map shut offs here indicated by those pink triangles you see the area just west of lake hennessy there is inundated with shut offs. Power for some customers may not be restored until tomorrow night according to pg and e and while most of those customers have dealt with these power shutoffs before they are no less frustrated. Outside today. It is so nice to bring you better news with our air quality. It is slowly Getting Better and this morning, check it out. Even parts of the north bay are starting off with moderate air quality. Yellow dot in santa rosa, and also for rio vista and looking at unhealthy air for sensitive groups. It is a little better for san rafael and San Francisco and napa and fairfield and concord. You are in the very unhealthy category. There are some improvements coming our way. We are still looking at that spare the air alert going a record 29 days in a row without a smoky skies however we will see a little bit of blue in spots this afternoon as there are parts of the bay area.
