Ghaziabad: Four men barged into a house at Sector 6 in Raj Nagar on Sunday morning, took the family hostage at gunpoint for about 30 minutes and fled with jewellery and cash worth over Rs 15 lakhs. The robbers, who entered the house around 3.30 am, wrapped up the family members in blankets and threw their mobile phones in water before fleeing.
Pawan Garg, who runs an ayurvedic medicine shop, said the men entered the house, close to the local police post, after cutting the window grille. While four people came in, four others kept a watch outside. Garg said he was sleeping next to his elder son in one room and his wife Rishu was sleeping in another room with their younger son when the incident happened. “Around 3.30 am, two men wearing masks woke me up. While two had pistols, two others had knives. My son Shiva also woke up and he raised the alarm. Hearing him, Rishu rushed into the room and the men caught her.
