viewers joining us here in the united states and all around the world, i am rosemary church. the u.s. state of california rocked by more mass shootings just days after a massacre in the city of monterey park. a pair of new shootings claimed the lives of at least seven people on, monday and the coastal city of half moon bay. authorities say the shooter opened fire in two different locations, one of which is a mushroom farm, the farm s owners say the event has left them shaken and they do not know the suspected shooter. police took 67 year old into custody and they say that they found a handgun in his vehicle close by. a local sheriff addressed the impact of the violence on the small farming community. this kind of shooting is horrific, it is a tragedy that we hear about far too often, but today it has hit home here in the county. speaking speaking with cnn, the mayor of monterey park the feeling of disbelief watching the tragedies unfold so soon one after another. my
it s the top of hour on cnn newsroom. first on cnn, another development in the growing discoveries involving classified documents. a lawyer for former vice president mike pence discovered about a dozen classified documents at pence s indiana home last week. several sources tell cnn that attorney turned over those classified records to the fbi. the fbi and the justice department s now national security division has launched an investigation. the discovery comes after the former vp into how classified materials were found in the private homes of president biden and former president trump. cnn s evan perez joins us now. this is getting really, really messy, what more can you tell us about these documents now at the former vice president s home? reporter: this is very messy, especially for the vice president and everyone who s been handling these classified documents. the vice president s team was doing these searches out of an abundance of caution because of what they
good evening, trace, less than 48 hours after the shooting in monterey park, we have another mass shooting in california, this time in the northern part of the state. investigators say seven were shot and killed in san mateo county near the coastal town of half moon bay which is just south of san francisco, we are told that there were two different scenes, both agricultural sites, the first location four were killed, if it was taken to the hospital. three were then killed at a second location, 67-year-old was later arrested and was reportedly found in his car in a parking lot where the local sheriff s substation. they had their guns strong and approached from behind the car, type formation, and got up to the car and were probably a few feet behind it, six or so and asked him to get out. speak at the sheriff s office says they have no idea what motivated the suspect in half moon bay, and that s the same situation investigators are dealing with in monterey park, they do not
