A Delhi court on Thursday issued notice to the ED on an application of AAP MP Sanjay Singh, arrested in a money laundering case related to alleged excise scam, seeking interim bail to attend the ongoing Parliament session. Special Judge M K Nagpal directed the ED to file its reply by February 3 on the application seeking interim bail from February 4 to 10.
Sameer Mahendru: Special Judge M K Nagpal, who had granted interim bail to Mahendru, the managing director of liquor distributor Indospirit, on account of his wife s surgery, extended the relief on an application moved by him claiming that the procedure has been delayed due to some medical complications.
Sameer Mahendru: According to the prosecution, Mahendru was one of the major beneficiaries of the violations of the excise policy as he was not only running an alcoholic beverage manufacturing unit but also given a wholesale licence along with some retail licences in the name of his relatives.
A Delhi court on Wednesday dismissed an appeal filed by former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot against his summoning in a criminal defamation complaint filed by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Special Judge M K Nagpal, meanwhile, extended Singh s judicial custody till December 4. The judge also noted the submission of the investigating officer that the charge sheet against the accused is likely to be filed shortly and within prescribed time.
