we are in midtown manhattan where branding and marketing is a big business. what did you learn about nike and microsoft, starbucks? guest: it s great to be with you and to have this time. when i was writing a logo it came out at the beginning of 2000, soso it is almost exactly 20-years-old and when i was researching it for years before that, it was a period where a lot is changing in the corporate world and there was a full blown lifestyle brand that we all take now, but these were companies that for the first astime were declaring the busins model wasn t to sell products but did so ideas or the sense of belonging that they could then extend into kind of self-imposed branded cocoons and so everything as long as it was branded this logo. so nike was the first one to do this. they didn t ever own their factories in it and the main thing i learned when i was researching is that there was a relationship between this aggressive kind of marketing that was constantly sort of troll

responded back, because if we challenge the little ones, the regulatory agencies won t have time to get to the big ones. now, that s a part of what we re up against. but i wanted to just indicate that our strategies are and they re successful. our strategies are to create self-help mechanisms for the consumers like the lemon law. to make to always make progress. to get victims organized to show what it is. today the u.s. department of transportation will not release the names and addresses of consumers who are complaining about a defect. why won t they do that? they say, well, the consumer doesn t want to have their name made public. well, in fact, the consumer is writing to 20 different institutions, attorney generals, action lines, the center for auto safety, you name it, and yet the agency says they want privacy. what they re doing is they re trying to stamp out media access to victims to build a story around. so, victims are exceedingly important to our winning strate
