In the April 27 meet, Aya won the long jump in 15-feet-5-inches, edging out her sister Amaya, who jumped 15-2. Aya was first in the 200 meters with a time of 27.4 seconds, then won the high jump in 4-feet-6-inches, where she owns a personal best of 5-feet. And in the 4-by-100, Aya took the baton on the anchor leg to lead the team of Mehkia Applewhite, Kiki Johnson and Amaya Daisey to a come-from-behind win in 55.8.
