Beachwood City Schools have asked the city not to collect its annual millage amount, which would result in lower property taxes. This, it is reasoned, would make it easier for voters to approve the May 2 bond issue for the construction of two new elementary schools.
Resident demands cleaning of deer blood: Mayfield Heights Police Blotter
MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio
General assistance: Ridgebury Boulevard
A resident said July 12 that the service department removed a deer carcass from his yard but left a big pool of blood in his yard and driveway. He said the deer had been there for several days and animals were eating it. He asked that the service department return to his property to clean the blood.
He was advised it was his property and his responsibility, but he said he would be exposed to disease.
The service department subsequently returned to the man’s home to help remove the blood. The man said he was the animal warden for the city in the 1970s and wanted a new animal warden reinstated. He was advised to speak with city council.
