Situation. Right now this whole area is cordoned off. But if you look up into the hill there, thats part of the park. You can see there are some officers conducting the investigation into this officer involved shooting. San Francisco Police say around 7 00 this evening, people walking in the park called to report a man with a gun. Police responded and according to a spokesperson, they encountered the suspect and thats when the shooting happened. Were not absolutely sure what occurred up here, but it does appear that he drew that weapon and officers responded. And shot him. He is dead at the scene. Reporter police say they were able to recover a gun at the scene. Right now, again, a very active investigation. Homicide detectives are here along with representatives from the San Francisco District Attorneys Office and the office of citizen complaints.
