Peggy. That fire is knocked down now. A very stubborn fouralarm fire that took over an hour to contain. Much of the damage is on the backside, not the street side. And it spread extended into three buildings were told with minor damage to a fourth. That according to firefighters who say this could have easily spread to the entire block had it not been for the aggressive action of their crews. Firefighters say when they arrived to the fire on m mcallister, that residents had already made it out, that the fire started on the first floor rear of the corner building and extended into a light well where three buildings come together. One early estimate about eight to ten units damaged. Firefighters say this was a real challenge. It was really labor intensive. There was a lot of work to be done.
