Updated January 15, 2021 3:10pm The Jolo, Sulu Regional Trial Court (RTC) has ordered the arrest of nine policemen accused of killing four soldiers in the town last June, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Friday. The court issued the arrest warrants on Thursday, said Prosecution Attorney Honey Delgado, spokesperson of the Office of the Prosecutor General. Delgado said the court is scheduled to hear prosecutors motion for a hold departure order (HDO) against the accused on Friday. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra confirmed this and said the court also issued hold departure orders (HDO) against the accused.

Published January 15, 2021 2:50pm The Armed Forces of the Philippines urged the dismissed police officers involved in the fatal Jolo shooting incident last year that left four Army officers dead, to surrender after warrants for their arrest have been issued. We urge the respondent police personnel to surrender else the AFP, the Philippine National Police, and other government agencies will vigorously search, find, and deliver them to court without delay to face trial for multiple murder, AFP spokesman Major General Edgard Arevalo said in a press statement Friday.
