Foreman Medals in Long Jump, Tigers Impress in Second Day of ACC Indoor Championship

BOSTON, Mass. - The Clemson Tigers shined in the second day of the ACC Indoor Championships as ten athletes secured their places in Saturday's finals and Shantae Foreman received the silver medal in the women's long jump. Foreman becomes the second Tiger to earn a silver medal for Clemson. Along with the medal and the second place finish, Foreman was also crowned First Team All-ACC as she becomes the second Tiger to earn the honor. Four athletes have earned All-ACC honors so far this week as Daniel Cope was named First Team while Marie Forbes and Nia Christie were tabbed Second Team All-ACC. Saturday's events begin at 11 a.m. with the men's triple jump as the first track event will begin at 12 p.m. with the men's mile. The day will end with the men's 4x400 relay at 3:35pm and the women's 4x400 relay at 4 p.m. Clemson will look to medal in all events and secure the ACC Championship title on both the men's and women's side. Chepngetich Earns First Place Finish at Furman Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – In her second event as a Clemson Tiger, newcomer Gladys Chepngetich finishes first in the Women’s 6K at the Furman Invitational. The Clemson women finished 3rd overall while the men finished 4th in the Men’s 6K.  “To see Clemson cross the line first is always a great thing to see. Walking away from this one, I see some things we need to work on as a group but overall, especially with the women’s performances, I think it was really good,” Head Coach Vicky Pounds said.  Chepngetich stayed within the lead for most of the event as the freshman found herself leading the group in the third lap. In the fourth and final loop, Chepngetich used her speed to push herself past the other leaders and cross the finish line with an impressive time of 20 minutes and 47 seconds. Cross Country Announces 2023 Schedule

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers Cross Country team has announced its 2023 schedule, as they prepare to run in their first meet on Friday in Spartanburg. The schedule features four competitions prior to the ACC Championships hosted by Florida State.  FULL SCHEDULE:  Sept. 1: Eye Opener - Spartanburg, S.C. Sept. 16: Furman Invitational 6K - Greenville, S.C.  Sept. 29: Liv @ Lou - Louisville, Ky.  Oct. 12: Crimson Classic - Tuscaloosa, Ala.  Oct. 25: ACC Championship - Tallahassee, Flal.  Nov. 10: Regional Championships - Spartanburg, S.C.  Nov. 24: NCAA Championships - Charlottesville, Va.    Head Coach Vicky Pounds enters her fifth season at the helm for the Tigers and will look to help lead both groups towards success this upcoming season.  Returning on the women’s side are sophomores, Maddie Dineen, who finished first in her opening meet of her freshman campaign in 2022, and Madison Roush, who tabbed two top 20 finishes last season.
