The cast of All About Theatre's production of “Urinetown: The Musical” casts long shadows on the London Nelson Community Center stage on Wednesday during dress rehearsal.
The city of Santa Cruz has hired a marketing firm to help city staff rebrand the city's current logo, a rendition of a lighthouse, and revamp its website, among other efforts to modify its visual identity.
"My mother Dana Potter, moved to Santa Cruz in 1948 to run a florist and nursery business on Ocean Street," writes columnist Ross Eric Gibson. "Her parents, Poppy and Hopie Potter, decided to join her, driving from Maryland to Santa Cruz in a 1949 Chevy, calling themselves the new '49ers. They bought a home on West Cliff Drive, a neighborhood with a small population and a large number of vacant summer cottages."
The city of Santa Cruz will hold a community meeting at the London Nelson Community Center Thursday evening to gain feedback about its recently completed draft "50-year Community Vision for West Cliff" document.
"The second wave of Reimagine METRO promises to bring an extra large swell of transit service to the region: a 40% increase over today thanks to recent state funding," said Metro Planning and Development Director John Urgo.
