Today Kate Raphael talks  with San Francisco State Professor Rabab Abdulhadi about the life of one of Eygpt’s most famous feminists Nawal el Saadawi who died recently. Sadaawi’s 1977 book, titled in English, The Hidden Face of Eve: Women in the Arab World, looked at practices such as clitoridectomy and workplace rape in the context of class and colonialism as well as culture. It was published in the United States with a foreword by Gloria Steinem.
