In pink right now and they are basically the coastal counties. Farther inland, though, some of these lightly shaded blue counties are also in an advisory. That would include Burlington County and areas right up to the Delaware River in south jersey also central delaware. So, later this evening in through thursday were looking at the potential of snow that could pile up enough to give you real travel problems. In closer to philadelphia were also looking at slippery conditions potentially for the morning commute. Ahead of all of this you see plenty of sunshine. Cloud cover will be digging in a little bit later on especially from the south. You can see it sort of riding up through the carolinas right now and thats because of that approaching coastal low pressure center. Southern Burlington County and then all the way down the shore to wildwood and southern delaware and Sussex County and kent county delaware as well as all the rest of south jersey is in an advisory. These are the areas expecting to see the most impactful snow although even southeastern pennsylvania on some models will also pick up something. As we take a look right now at satellite, youve got plenty of sunshine on the way early but you can see how the clouds are beginning to dig up from the south in association with that approaching noreaster. Temperatures this morning are pretty cold. 16 degrees in philadelphia. And up in allentown, weve managed to dip all the way to 4 degrees under clear skies and all the way down to two in reading. 11 degrees in trenton. 12 in wilmington and 24 in cape may. Winds not a big factor this morning but in some cases they are forcing those wind chills down a little bit. In most areas, though, youve got a pretty similar profile as winds are fairly light. As
Cold and weve got single digit temperatures in the northern and western suburbs. The big story, of course is the winter storm watch and that approaching noreaster and right now all coastal counties in delaware and south jersey are under a storm watch. This starts this evening, goes all the way until thursday evening and now an advisory has been added in the rest of the south jersey counties all the way up to the i95 corridor. And dover, delaware and kent county delaware also included. This is where most of the snow will likely fall. Although its possible that philadelphia and some parts of southeastern pennsylvania also get something. Ahead of all of this were actually looking at sunshine a little later this morning to start out. And then this cloud cover that you can see welling up and pushing north toward Raleigh North Carolina and into virginia shortly after that will start to overtake us and youre starting to see a little precipitation down south. Spring, but it certainly felt like spring yesterday. This a live view of cape may. Thats not the only spot seeing some thick fog. Allentown is reporting some dense fog. Thick also in wilmington. And the fog we can see at wild wood a quarter mile visibility there. There are some spots in between, and it is still forming right now. So well likely see some more fog before we get that sunshine and record warmth. 60 degrees right now in the suburbs, 53 with the fog in philadelphia. And this afternoon were on track with more records today. 76 in philadelphia, 70 for the suburbs and new jersey where even the Lehigh Valley and delaware, look at that 77 degrees this afternoon. The coolest spot will be the jersey shore, but youll get some sunshine too and into the 60s in the afternoon. Ill break it down hour by hour when im back in ten minutes. Morning and its still dense. And we had seen some fog in wilmington. That has eased. Atlanta city, the airport and wildwood both at a quarter mile visibility. Its not widespread this morning. Warm weather, that is widespread this morning. 50s right now in delaware, low 50s, 57 degrees in the Lehigh Valley and look at that at 60 degrees in new jersey. The clouds clear out. Any fog disappears, and well see warm winds blowing our temperature right back into the record books this afternoon. 70s for new jersey, the suburbs and philadelphia, and up to 76 degrees in delaware, and look at the live. 75 degrees this afternoon.
