In just the last few minutes weve learned there is a second victim. Police tell us a man in a second apartment was also attacked. An armed man broke into the victims apartment and said he was looking for another man and drugs. He pistol whipped the victim who played dead and then managed to escape. Thats when the gunman moved onto another apartment and broke down a door to get inside that apartment. He pistol whipped a woman there who was watching tv in bed. So far there are no arrests. 6 03 right now. Today survivors of the Florida School shooting. It comes after President Trump called on lawmakers to take action on gun control. President trump says we must do more to protect children. He has ordered the attorney general to propose new rules banning bump stocks and other devices that make rifles fire rapidly. He has also indicated he wants to strengthen background checks. Today the president will hold a listening session at the white house with students and teachers ufed by the Florida School massacre last week. Hell also meet with parents and students in the call umbine and Sandy Hook School shootings. And also students will head to tallahassee to continue talks with state lawmakers and the governor. They want to see a ban on guns, but tuesday florida legislators voted down a bill to ban assault rifles. That decision upset students. Students say just to mean lives have been lost, and change to this countrys gun laws need to happen right now. I dont know how columbine wasnt enough. I dont know how sandy hook wasnt enough. I dont know how the Las Vegas Shooting wasnt enough or the pulse nightclub was not enough. I dont know how any of it was not enough. But now it is. This is enough for me. This is enough for my message. This is enough for my platform, and im not going to let anyone stop me. And many of the students in tallahassee today say they will also make the trip to washington next month for the march for our lives event calling on members of congress to Work Together and draw up new meaningful gun control laws. Pennsylvania republicans plan to challenge the new Congressional District map drawn up by the state supreme court, and they could file that challenge as early as today. Among the changes the map redraws the odd shaped seventh district seen here in red to now include much of delaware county. Heres the new map. Democrats welcome the redrawing. Allentown mayor ed pawlowski is expected to take the stand today in his federal corruption trial. Jurors yesterday heard several character witnesses tell the court pawlowski is an honest man. Dealing with 20 minute delays because of an automobile blocking the rails. And watching patco, amtrak and new Jersey Transit. Officers responded to the scene at the intersection. The injured woman is in Critical Condition with a broken arm and internal injuries, but she is spect expected to be okay. Students who survivored the Florida School shooting will be pushing for a ban. A caravan of buses brought 100 students to tallahassee last night ahead of todays facetoface with the same lawmakers tuesday, yesterday voted down a bill to ban assault rifles. It also forced lawmakers in our area to face the gun debate. One lawmakers proposal to keep guns out of dangerous hands. Randy, tell us more. Reporter yeah, theyre called red flag laws. Theyre already on the books in other states now getting a lot of attention here in pennsylvania amid other vigils and rallies. Later tonight here in glenside at this church a candlelight vigil will be held, and yesterday a demonstration urging lawmakers to pass new laws in the wake of the Deadly School massacre. One possible option is a new bill introduced by Democratic State senator dalen leech that would allow family members or police to petition a judge to temporarily take away firearms from those suspected of being a threat. They would need evidence like social media postings showing the person could be dangerous. The guy who just did the shooting at parkland in florida said i want to be a professional school shooter. You know, if i saw that i would bring that to the courts attention. Were just trying to protect people. Anyones kids, anyone can be the victim of this. Among the steps his administration announced yesterday a comprehensive review of the tools students, parents and teachers have to report a potential threat. They plan to expand training on how to report suspicious activity to bus drivers and teachers, and a look at how Law Enforcement follows up on those leads to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Today new york authorities expect to arraign a neurologist who used to practice here in philadelphia on charges he raped a patient in new york city. Hes accused of raping a woman multiple times. In 2016 he pleaded guilty to assaulting seven patients while he was chairman of drexal universitys neurology department. And under that plea agreement authorities sentenced him to seven years probation and he had to forfeit his medical license. Police are investigating two shootings that happened blocks apart that appear to be related. 1 victim was shot in a parking garage and the other victim found five blocks away on broad street. Both are going to be okay. Both are in custody. New video shows the moment a pickup truck slammed into a south jersey auto zone trapping a customer under shattered glass and debris. Witnesses said they saw the pickup truck crash. Bus the driver and it customer are expected to be okay. And a section of Chestnut Street in old city is blocked off this morning as authorities worry it could collapse. The city says the building will eventually need to be demolished. New this morning in the Lehigh Valley a warning for residents in allentown after officials discovered a computer virus on the citys network. You need to be aware of any email with attachments you dont normally receive from allentown officials. It could be an attempt to spread the virus to your computer. Someone discovered the malware tuesday of last week. Microsoft representatives have been in allentown working on the problem since this past thursday. New this morning in delaware, prison officials are trying to stop the spread of the flu virus by restricting visits.
