Good morning, i m carol costello. thank you so much for joining me. water, power, and some of the oldest living trees on the planet, all are threatened by a huge wildfire that s still growing in yosemite national park. on the ground, 3700 firefighters hard at work, in the air, aircraft dropping water and retardant on the flames as the fire gets close to a key reservoir and hydroelectric generators. lee bentley is on the phone this morning, good morning, lee. good morning. so, everybody s saying the size of this fire is historic. from your perspective, what do you see? well, the fire is historic, in fact, it s grown to almost 180,000 acres. we ve worked a number of ways today, lower humidity, degree difference from yesterday. ....

At this point? not that much. at the north entrance i d say a little bit but beyond that so far they re not going to see a whole lot of black. coming toward back toward on 120 toward groveland, they re going to see a whole lot of black, which has been burnt. at this point do you feel like you have enough resources on the ground? what further help do you need? well, we re just under 3,700 people fighting this fire. we re also fighting out of two areas so we re set up in tuolumne city with a group and over here in two meadows. so we re split. we probably have 2,000 of that group and they have another 1,600 in tuolumne city. we re fighting the fire from two side, two fronts. we wish you the best of luck in that battle. lee bentley with the u.s. forest ....
