Rep. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) in a lengthy Facebook post on Wednesday attacked Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina), who adjourned the chamber Tuesday night without holding a vote to override Gov. Mike DeWineâs Dec. 3 veto of a bill that would have severely limited the executiveâs powers to implement certain public health orders. âI think itâs fair to show this man single handily (sic) kept this bill from being overrode, made excuses, blamed others, and lied,â Edwards said. âThe truth is, he did not want to upset the Governor in hopes the Governor helps him get hired or appointed to his next gig ⦠President Obhof, quit telling LIES about us and maybe weâll quit telling the TRUTH about you.â ....

The single largest amount of money, $850,000, will pay for marina improvements in Conneaut, according to the bill. Recently, Conneaut Port Authority Chairman George Peterson described a new transient marina facility to Conneaut City Council. The Ashtabula County Metroparks will receive $750,000 from the bill, divided up among three projects. The largest amount of money will go to the Pymatuning Valley Greenway Trail, according to the bill. The money will be used to move the trail project forward, said Metroparks Office Administrator Antoinette Green. ....
Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) State lawmakers have been considering overriding Gov. Mike DeWine s veto of a bill that would limit his ability to enact health orders like the ones he put in place closing the state’s businesses back in the spring due to the pandemic. But the big question is whether the legislature has enough votes to override the veto. It takes 20 votes to override a veto in the Senate. The bill (see related story below) passed the Senate in September 20 to 13. When asked if there are enough votes for an override, outgoing Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) responded this way. ....
