The Ohio House and Senate passed S.B. 310, the state’s 2021 capital budget late last week, and the bill includes $3.45 million for a number of projects in Ashtabula County.
“I am overjoyed with the capital funds that will be allocated for Ashtabula County by the passage of SB 310,” said State Rep. John Patterson (D-Jefferson), in a statement announcing the projects.
The single largest amount of money, $850,000, will pay for marina improvements in Conneaut, according to the bill. Recently, Conneaut Port Authority Chairman George Peterson described a new transient marina facility to Conneaut City Council.
The Ashtabula County Metroparks will receive $750,000 from the bill, divided up among three projects. The largest amount of money will go to the Pymatuning Valley Greenway Trail, according to the bill. The money will be used to move the trail project forward, said Metroparks Office Administrator Antoinette Green. ....
