Down to Earth Construction LLC submitted the highest bid of $1.443 million to purchase the site, compared to Belmar’s bid of $1.160 million the only bidders to submit their offers before the Belmar First Aid Squad (BFAS) made its selection on May 20, according to Kenneth Pringle, the Belmar attorney representing the squad. ....

While the number of visitors declined to 84.6 million a 27% drop from 2019 visitor spending fell nearly 37% to a level last seen during the 2009 recession, as pandemic closures and capacity limitation weighed heavily on spending, it was reported during the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association’s annual Advocacy Day event, held online on May 6. ....
