Eddie Murphy’s “Coming 2 America” is a comedy reboot that doesn’t shy away from callbacks. The sequel, which arrived last week, is loaded with references, innuendos and outright repeat jokes from the 1988 original, like the classic Mets jacket getup and even some recycled old footage. Some of the gags are hard to spot if you like many viewers were busy taking in the film’s lavish scenery and costume design, so we’ve got your guide to all the easter eggs you may have missed.
Coming To America arrived via Amazon Prime Video on Friday (March 5) to mixed reviews. Par for the course, some people loved it while others thought it was a film that didn’t need to be made.

NBC News, the 45,000 square-foot Fayetteville mansion sits on 235 acres and was previously owned by boxer Evander Holyfield. With 12 bedrooms and a dining room that seats up to 100 people, it had the scale director Craig Brewer and production designer Jeffery Sage had imagined.
Coming to America was a worldwide smash hit when it was released in 1988. Its star Eddie Murphy was a comedian at the top of his slapstick game and while the film received mixed reviews it was beloved among his fanbase.
