Women Finish 5th, Men Finish 6th as Several Tigers Claim Individual Championships

DURHAM, N.C. The 2022 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday, with the Clemson men finishing in sixth place and the women finishing fifth. The day saw Clemson claim ACC Championships in two events, s well as set numerous All-ACC recognitions. The Tigers set numerous personal bests and had four top-10 marks on Saturday alone. “ELLIOTT QUOTE” HIGHLIGHTS Trishauna Hemmings took home the ACC Championship in the 100 meter hurdles, running a season best 13.00 to take the crown. The day concluded with fireworks, as the men’s 4x400 meter relay team of Wanya McCoy, Tarees Rhoden, Cameron Rose and Aman Thornton set the facility record en route to the ACC Championship. The mark of 3:05.15 was best in the conference, earning Clemson the gold, as the Tigers won the event in both indoor and outdoor season this year. Giano Roberts earned first-team All-ACC honors in the 110 meter hurdles, and also moved up t No. 3 on Clemson’s all-time list with his time of 13.4 ....

Stona Sets School Record on Final Day of Penn Relays

The 126th iteration of the Penn Relays concluded on Saturday as several Tigers earned the opportunity to compete for championships to close out what was an extremely impressive weekend for Clemson's track and field program. Clemson Wins 4×200 Meter Relay Championship as Tigers Excel on Friday at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. The second day of the 2022 Penn Relays proved extraordinary for the Clemson track and field program, as several Tigers posted impressive marks, including the 4x200 meter relay group consisting of Fabian Hewitt, Guinove Joanus, Wanya McCoy and Cameron Rose that brought home the championship in the event. At least one Tiger advanced to Saturday's finals in every event that had prelims take place on Friday. This sets up for a thrilling final day in Philadelphia with the chance for even more Clemson athletes to take home championships. This was a very good day, said Program Director Mark Elliott. Whenever you can win a championship at the Penn relays, that's pretty special, especially with making finals in all events. Clemson Signs Ryan-Matthew John

CLEMSON, S.C. The Clemson track and field program has inked its second athlete of the week with the signing of jumper Ryan-Matthew John, the team announced on Saturday. John hails from New York and participates in each of the jump events (long, high, triple).John currently jumps 23 feet 3 inches (7.09m) in the long jump, while clearling 6 feet 6 inches (2.00m) in the hugh jump. and in the triple jump, he jumped 48 feet 3 1/2 inches (14.72m). The current high school senior currently ranks first in NY for triple jump and 38th Nationally in 2021.The news of John's signing comes just days after the Tigers announced 2019 MEAC Champion in the 60m Kiara Grant as a midterm signee. Clemson continues to add to its already extremely talented list of incoming athletes, as John projects to make an immediate impact on the jumps team. ....
