Clemson Has 15 Athletes Qualify for Finals on Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C.  The Tigers put on another impressive performance on Friday, sending 15 entries to Saturday's championship races. Clemson ended the day with five points on the women's side, while the men had gathered 11 points. Action will resume on Saturday at 2 p.m. and conclude following the men's 4x400 meter relay at 8:40 p.m. FULL RESULTS FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS Oneka Wilson (13.33) and Antoinette Van der Merwe (13.41) both qualified for the 100 meter hurdles finals. Wilson, a freshman, won the 60 meter hurdles ACC Indoor Championship in February. Giano Roberts (13.44) and Jevon Williams (13.79) both qualified for the 110 meter hurdles finals. Roberts won the 60 meter hurdles National Championship in March. KK Gadson's 53.06 400 meter run time earned her a spot in the finals. Men's Sprint Medley Relay Victory Highlights Rainy Friday at Penn Relays – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

PHILADELPHIA  The Clemson track and field program had two athletes make their way into the school record book on Thursday at Penn Relays. Brynne Sumner and Maddie Dinneen both set impressive personal bests on their way onto top-10 lists. While only a few Tigers competed on the opening day of the relays, most of the team will make their meet debut on Friday. Action begins at 11:55 a.m. with the women's distance medley relay, and will run through 6:25 p.m. concluding with the men's sprint medley relay. THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS Brynne Sumner set a massive PR in the 1500 meter run, finishing the race in 4:20.96. That time is sixth-best in Clemson history and puts Sumner on her second top-10 list of the season. She holds the No. 7 spot in the 800 meter run. Stona Sets School Record on Final Day of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  The 126th iteration of the Penn Relays concluded on Saturday as several Tigers earned the opportunity to compete for championships to close out what was an extremely impressive weekend for Clemson's track and field program. Most notably, Rojé Stona broke his own school record in the discus throw and set the new mark at 65.11 meters.

Clemson Wins 4×200 Meter Relay Championship as Tigers Excel on Friday at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  The second day of the 2022 Penn Relays proved extraordinary for the Clemson track and field program, as several Tigers posted impressive marks, including the 4x200 meter relay group consisting of Fabian Hewitt, Guinove Joanus, Wanya McCoy and Cameron Rose that brought home the championship in the event. At least one Tiger advanced to Saturday's finals in every event that had prelims take place on Friday. This sets up for a thrilling final day in Philadelphia with the chance for even more Clemson athletes to take home championships. This was a very good day, said Program Director Mark Elliott. Whenever you can win a championship at the Penn relays, that's pretty special, especially with making finals in all events.
