Search for missing East London bodyboarder continues 15 April 2021 Robert Walter Ernst Frauenstein, 38, went missing on Tuesday morning while bodyboarding in Chintsa. Frauenstein’s bright yellow and pink bodyboard was found washed up on the beach on Tuesday with what was suspected to be bite marks from a shark, according to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI). Captain Khaya Tonjeni told DispatchLIVE on Thursday afternoon that the search was still underway. “On Wednesday a full search resumed with a helicopter by NSRI, search and rescue from SAPS came with the dog unit to scan the beach. A vessel was used to search on the coast with private boats assisting without luck,” Tonjeni said. ....

Four classrooms and a resource centre at a school went up in smoke on Sunday. Two people have been arrested for arson and burglary. The Eastern Cape education department said the damage amounted to R113 477. Two individuals, one of which is a pupil, have been arrested by the Eastern Cape police for breaking into Wilson Mayekiso Junior Secondary School in Tsomo. They stole food which was meant to feed learners, after which the school building was set alight. The fire destroyed four classrooms and a resource centre. The Eastern Cape education department said the damage caused by the fire amounted to R113 477. ....
