good afternoon, everyone. i m the manager here at the national archives experience. i d like to welcome you all and are good friends at c-span to the special constitution day program. today the national archives sobering the 224th birthday of the united states constitution with an author talk on james madison who was father of the constitution. we are honored today to have as our special guest speaker the preeminent historian and senior editor for national review, richard brookhiser. mr. brookhiser has been writing about politicians, living and dead for most of his life. his first article in high school was a cover story in national review in 1970. when he was 15 years old. he went to work for the magazine full-time in 1977 and has been there ever since. in 1987 he began writing a column for the new york observer. and has written for many of the magazines on the atlantic monthly cosmopolitan cover everything from the fall of communism, the monica lewinsky. for a ....
