Greece and Cyprus to be connected with new maritime route Search for: Cyprus and Greece will be connected with a new ferry service, the Cypriot Deputy Minister of Shipping said during a press conference held yesterday in Limassol. “We are pleased to announce the tender for the selection of a maritime carrier contractor which will carry out maritime passenger transport between Cyprus and Greece”, said Cypriot Deputy Minister of Shipping, Vassilis Dimitriadis. “After many months of consultations, we have secured the pre-approval from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition”, he stressed. “With the assurance of the approval of the Council of Ministers for the allocation of the necessary funds for the implementation of this project, the way has now been opened for the conduct of open European competition,” stressed Dimitriadis. ....
