SAYVILLE, NY Residents in the Sayville School District will head to the polls next week to cast their ballots for a proposed school budget and to elect school board trustees.
Polls will be open on May 18 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Old Junior High School.
The Board of Education is proposing a $96.9 million budget for the 2021-22 school year.

That represents a 0.08 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.61 percent hike in the school tax levy.

The Great Neck, Lawrence, Hewlett-Woodmere and West Hempstead districts received permission from the state to hold voting on May 11, before the statewide date of May 18, which is also the date of the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
