PORT WASHINGTON, NY Residents in the Glen Cove School District will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for a proposed $96 million spending plan for the 2021-22 school year and to elect school board trustees.
The proposed spending plan represents a 3.4% spending increase over last year, as well as a school tax levy of 1.66%.
Eight candidates are running for four open seats on the school district s Board of Education, according to liherald.com. The top three candidates, who garner the most votes, will serve three-year terms, and the fourth candidate will serve the remainder of a one-year term, the outlet reported. ....

School district residents go to the polls on May 18 to vote on budgets and members of their local boards for the coming school year. Below are the details on the ballots in 124 districts. Results will be posted here as they become available.

The Great Neck, Lawrence, Hewlett-Woodmere and West Hempstead districts received permission from the state to hold voting on May 11, before the statewide date of May 18, which is also the date of the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
