Sangha president Vinayaka Harapanahalli and secretary Siddesh K L M said that they thought of the idea going by their bad experiences from the past elections. “Every time, they get elected by merely making promises. There is no mechanism available to check their performance. So we have prepared a list of 37 problems faced by the villagers. As the village elders were particular about development, we approached the 47 candidates contesting for 21 GP seats. They all signed on that, thereby taking an undertaking to solve those problems with some elders as guarantors and witnesses,” they said.
