Karnataka election results: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had on Monday claimed that the candidates supported by the ruling BJP are likely to win a majority of the seats.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday said that 60 per cent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-supported candidates have won in the local body elections in the state. The party has captured 3,600-gram panchayats, he said at a press conference.
On Wednesday, Karnataka state election commission had announced the results for 54,041 seats of 5,728 Gram Panchayats, while that of the remaining 36,781 seats were to be announced today. As per the latest reported, the counting is still underway.
